RAIN!!!

i'm housesitting at my mother's. the weather has been disgustingly hot. an hour ago i was about to walk the dogs before i have to leave for yoga, when it suddenly started thundering and raining.
my aunt called to chat, and she likes to talk about the weather - not just "oh, it's hot", but weather statistics and stuff. so I got out my mom's digital rain gauge.
at 3:15 we had .08 of an inch of rain. now it is 50 minutes later and we have 1.85 inches. let me tell you in case that means nothing to you - that is INSANE.
so the dogs will have to go unwalked because i am sure as hell not going out in this. (plus it's thundering.)
if you don't hear from me it's because i drowned walking out to my car.
sheesh.
(i love rain, actually. i wish it had been raining all day while I was sitting here staring out the window.)
oh, now we're up to 2.01 inches! in 45 minutes. MAN.
